Annual billing and plan switching — what to expect

How annual and monthly billing work, what happens when you switch plans, why changing from an annual plan requires care, and what your refund options are.

1

Monthly billing vs Annual billing

EasyWebie plans are available on two billing schedules:

Monthly billing — you are charged each month. Cancel any time and your plan stays active until the end of the current month. No long-term commitment.

Annual billing — you pay for a full year upfront at a discounted rate. The discount compared to paying month-by-month:

| Plan | Monthly price × 12 | Annual price | Annual saving |

|---|---|---|---|

| Basic | $4 × 12 = $48/yr | $30/yr | ~37% |

| Starter | $9 × 12 = $108/yr | $99/yr | ~8% |

| Pro | $19 × 12 = $228/yr | $216/yr | ~5% |

*Prices shown before tax. Indian users pay 18% GST on top.*

Annual billing locks in the full-year cost at checkout. This means you pay the annual amount in one transaction — not in monthly instalments.

2

Switching from monthly to annual — the "Switch to annual" button

If you are on a monthly plan and want to switch to annual billing for the same plan tier, the pricing page shows a "Switch to annual" button (instead of "Current plan") when you toggle the annual view.

Clicking it opens the Paddle checkout for the annual version of your current plan. Once you complete checkout:

1A new annual subscription is created immediately.
2Your old monthly subscription is cancelled right away — it does not run out to the end of the month.
3Your plan tier stays the same (Basic stays Basic, Pro stays Pro).
4Your AI credits and Sonnet quota reset to the new plan's monthly limit.

You are not charged twice. The annual checkout replaces the monthly subscription on the spot.

3

Switching plans while on annual billing — important warning

If you are on an annual plan and you choose to switch to a different plan (a higher tier monthly, a lower tier, or any other plan) before your annual year ends, here is what happens:

Your annual subscription is cancelled immediately. There is no automatic proration — the unused months on your annual plan are not refunded by default.

EasyWebie shows a warning before this happens:

> *"You're on an annual plan. Switching will immediately cancel your current annual subscription. Any unused months are not automatically refunded. If you believe a refund is fair, contact support@easywebie.com before completing the switch."*

You can choose "Go back" to keep your annual plan, or "Continue anyway →" to proceed with the switch knowing the annual subscription will be cancelled.

This warning only appears when you are on an annual plan and choosing a different plan. Switching from monthly to annual for the same tier has no warning because there is nothing to lose.

Annual plan switching — all scenarios explained

Here is a clear table of every plan-switching scenario and what happens:

| Your current plan | Switching to | What happens |

|---|---|---|

| Monthly (any tier) | Higher tier monthly | Old sub cancelled; new sub starts immediately. Credits reset. |

| Monthly (any tier) | Same tier, annual | Old monthly sub cancelled; new annual sub starts. Equivalent to "Switch to annual". |

| Monthly (any tier) | Lower tier monthly | Old sub cancelled; new sub starts (effective at period end in Paddle portal). |

| Annual (any tier) | Same tier (annual toggle) | Button shows "Current plan" — purchase is blocked. No accidental re-buy. |

| Annual (any tier) | Higher tier monthly | Warning modal shown. Annual sub immediately cancelled. New monthly sub starts. Unused annual months lost unless refund approved. |

| Annual (any tier) | Higher tier annual | Warning modal shown. Annual sub immediately cancelled. New annual sub starts. Unused months on old sub lost unless refund approved. |

| Annual (any tier) | Lower tier monthly | Warning modal shown. Annual sub immediately cancelled. New monthly sub starts at lower tier. Significant savings forfeited. |

| Any plan | Free | Cancelling your paid sub (via Paddle portal). Plan downgrades to Free at period end. No warning needed — no new charge. |

The warning modal appears in every scenario where you are on annual billing and choosing a different plan or tier.

Refund policy for unused annual months

EasyWebie does not automatically refund unused months when you switch away from an annual plan. However, refunds are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If you switched recently and believe a refund is fair:

Contact support at support@easywebie.com before you complete the switch (or as soon as possible after). Include:

Your account email
The date you switched
How many months remained on the annual plan

Refund eligibility depends on how much of the annual period you had used and the reason for switching. There is no guarantee, but reasonable cases are reviewed.

Best practice: If you are unsure whether to switch, email support first to understand your options before completing checkout.

6

What happens to your AI credits when you switch plans

When you switch plans — in any direction — your AI build count and Sonnet credit count are reset to the new plan's monthly limits at the moment the plan changes.

| If you switch from… | AI builds | Sonnet credits |

|---|---|---|

| Basic (50/mo) → Starter (120/mo) | Resets to 120 | Resets to 30 |

| Starter (120/mo) → Pro (250/mo) | Resets to 250 | Resets to 100 |

| Pro (250/mo) → Starter (120/mo) | Resets to 120 | Resets to 30 |

| Any paid → Free | Resets to 0 new lifetime builds (existing 10 lifetime builds already used are not restored) | 0 |

Unused credits from the previous plan are not carried over. If you were on Basic and had 43 builds remaining this month, then upgraded to Starter, you start fresh at 120 — you do not get 43 + 120.

Sonnet top-up credits (purchased separately) are not lost when you switch plans — they remain in your account and can be used on any paid plan.

How to check your current billing type

To see whether you are on monthly or annual billing:

1Go to your Dashboard → Account & Plan
2Click "Manage billing" — this opens the Paddle customer portal
3In the Paddle portal, your subscription shows the billing interval: "Monthly" or "Yearly"

Alternatively, on the Pricing page, if you toggle the annual view for your current plan and the button says "Current plan" (disabled), you are already on annual billing. If it says "Switch to annual", you are on monthly billing.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pause an annual plan instead of cancelling?

Not currently. Your options are to keep it active, switch to a different plan (with the consequences described above), or cancel.

If I upgrade from Basic Annual to Pro Monthly, do I lose the entire remaining year?

Yes — the Basic annual sub is cancelled immediately when the Pro monthly checkout completes. Contact support before switching if you want to discuss a partial refund.

I accidentally switched plans. Can I reverse it?

Contact support@easywebie.com as soon as possible. If you purchased within the last few hours, a refund and plan restoration may be possible.

What if I just want to add more AI credits without changing my plan?

You can buy Sonnet top-up credits (10 credits, one-time purchase) without changing your plan. This is available on the Account & Plan page. Regular AI build top-ups are not currently available — upgrading your plan is the only way to increase the monthly Haiku build limit.

Does annual billing renew automatically?

Yes. At the end of the 12-month period, Paddle charges your saved payment method for another year at the same rate. You will receive an email reminder before the renewal. You can cancel anytime via the Paddle portal to prevent the renewal.
